Boost daily productivity with the following tips.
Listening
It all begins with listening. If you don’t have a list, create one. If you have a rough list from the night before, the first thing you do when you sit at your desk is to sharpen the list, adding any last minute items.
Worst first
We often have one item on our list that is hanging over our heads and doesn’t seem like it will get taken care of, step up to the plate and knock this out. The rest of the day is downhill from there
Just do it
Use small tasks to make you productive. They are quick and very often easy. Complete them and cross them off the list
Make things enjoyable
Reward yourself with occasional breaks and music you enjoy.
Peak Times
Identify the times you know are the most productive and set aside some tasks for this time. Close your door put the phone on silent and maximise this time.
80/20 RULE
Use this to your advantage find the tasks that benefit you the most and do them first.
Batching
Cluster your phone calls and email checks for short bursts throughout the day about 3 or 4 times.
Focus
Focus on one task at a time. Don’t split your attention into several different tasks.
Optimize and reflect
As you get to the end of your day look back on what you have done. Identify your peak times the most time wasted and, aim to get rid of what caused this lost time. Make a note of what you can do better on tomorrow.
Re-list
Not all of your tasks will be completed on a single day so relist them for tomorrow and highlight them, so you won’t let it roll over for two or more days.
