John O’Shea brings over a decade of experience working alongside Pat across every aspect of the business. His work spans adventure consultancy, expedition logistics, operations, and guide management, making him a key force behind the smooth running of both domestic and international trips.
With extensive on-the-ground experience, John plays a vital role in planning, coordinating, and supporting expeditions and events. His practical insight, calm leadership, and deep understanding of the company’s ethos make him an invaluable member of the Pat Falvey team.
Tony Nation

Tony Nation is a highly experienced Mountain Leader whose guiding career stretches back to 1997. A lifelong adventurer, he has explored and led expeditions across Nepal, India, Russia, Africa, South America, and Eastern Europe. His deep knowledge of the outdoors is complemented by over 45 years of leadership experience in the pharmaceutical industry, where he coordinated multidisciplinary teams and achieved both corporate and collective goals.
Alongside his expedition work, Tony has been a dedicated trainer with Scouting Ireland, passing on his skills and inspiring confidence in the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts. When not traveling the world in search of new challenges, he can be found on the hills of Ireland—especially his beloved Reek in Kerry.
A devoted family man, Tony is married to his wife Mary, and together they have four children and five grandchildren of whom he is immensely proud.

Joe O’Leary is an accomplished guide and skilled Mountain Leader with experience leading expeditions across Ireland, Africa, Russia, and the Himalaya. His background as a secondary school teacher gives him a strong foundation in communication, training, and group management — qualities that enhance his effectiveness in demanding outdoor environments.
An experienced trainer and expedition coordinator, Joe brings calm leadership, clear instruction, and a deep passion for the mountains to every journey he leads.

Freddy Tarimo is one of Kilimanjaro’s most respected and experienced guides. His career on the mountain began in 1986 as a porter, before training as a cook and undertaking specialist courses in first aid and high-altitude medicine. By 1988, he had qualified as a fully trained guide — and since then, he has summited Kilimanjaro over 400 times.
Freddy has been leading expeditions with Pat Falvey since 1996 and is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading Kilimanjaro guides. His knowledge of the mountain, leadership skills, and commitment to safety have earned him admiration from climbers across the globe.
Adventure is a family tradition for the Tarimos: Freddy’s sons, Goodliving and Emanuel, proudly work alongside him on the mountain.

Hailing from Mendoza, Argentina, Ulises Corvalan is a highly qualified mountain professional with extensive experience on Aconcagua and throughout the Andes. He holds a National Mountaineering Instructor certification from the National Institute of Sport, as well as Mountain Guide and Trekking Guide qualifications from the Provincial School of High Mountain Guides and from the Institute of Physical Education Jorge E. Coll.
Ulises has taken part in more than 90 expeditions to Aconcagua, achieving 48 successful summits to date. His deep knowledge of the mountain, combined with his strong technical training and calm leadership style, makes him a trusted guide for climbers from around the world.
