Day 1: Fly Ireland – Kilimanjaro
Day 2: Arrive Kilimanjaro and rest day
Zone 1: Cultivation (800m – 1,800m). Rest and briefing day at the hotel.
Day 3: Trek Machame Gate (1,950m) – Machame Camp (2,980m)
Zone 2: Rainforest (1,800m – 2,800m).
Day 4: Trek Machame Camp (2,980m) – Shira Camp (3,840m)
Zone 3: Heather-Moorland (2,800m – 4,000m).
Day 5: Trek Shira Camp (3840m) – Lava Towers (4,637m) – Barranco Camp (3,950m)
Zone 4. This is one of the hardest days as we rise to 4,637m before descending again to 3,950m.
Day 6: Trek – Barranco Camp (3,950m) – summit of the Barranco Wall – to Karanga Camp (4,030m)
Zone 4. Acclimatisation trek to Karanga Camp (4,030m).
Day 7: Trek – Karanga Camp (4,030m) – Barafu Camp (4,600m)
Zone 4.
Day 8: Trek Barafu Camp (4,600m) – Stella Point – summit of Kilimanjaro (5,895m).
Zone 5: Arctic (5,000m – 5,895m). Descend to Barafu Camp and on to Mweka Camp (3,100m).
Day 9: Trek from Mweka Camp (3,100m) to Mweka Gate (2,000m)
Return to hotel.
Day 10: Rest and relax We have a half day checking out the local town of Moshi and have lunch before returning to the hotel.
Day 11: Departure for Ireland or transfer to hotel if opting for safari and/or Zanzibar
