Trip Itinerary

Our itinerary is crafted from decades of mountaineering expertise, ensuring a tried and tested journey.

NOTE : Adventure is inherently influenced by weather and conditions, and as such, it may be subject to minor changes.

Day 1: Depart from Dublin / Arrival in Lima

Arrive in Lima, where our guide will escort you from the airport to your hotel in the vibrant capital, a city rich in history and culture.

Day 2: Lima to Cusco 3400m.

Fly from Lima to Cusco. Settle into your hotel and acclimatize to the high altitude at 3400m.

Day 3: Cusco Leisure 3400m

Enjoy a leisurely day in Cusco. Explore at your own pace, soaking in the local culture.

Day 4: Cusco – Chiquisca 1875m

Depart early for a scenic drive to Sayhuite, followed by a trek to Chiquisca where you’ll camp under the stars.

Day 5: Chiquisca- Marampata 2860m

Trek from Chiquisca through vibrant cloud forests to Marampata, enjoying the diverse flora and stunning views.

Day 6: Maampata – Choquequirari 3340m

Explore the Choquequirao complex, immersing yourself in the mysteries of its ancient ruins.

Day 7: Choquequiraro – Pincha 2487m

Continue your hike to Pincha Unuyoq, where you’ll camp near this intriguing archaeological site.

Day 8: Pincha – Maizal 3000m

Descend to the Rio Blanco and climb to Maizal, experiencing a rigorous yet visually rewarding day.

Day 9: Maizal – Yanama 3500m

Climb to the Abra San Juan pass, enjoy breathtaking views, and descend to the village of Yanama.

Day 10: Yanama – Totora 2860m

Ascend to the Totora pass, witnessing the majestic Salkantay peak, and camp in Totora.

Day 11: Totora – Santa Teresa 2060m

Descend through diverse landscapes from high-altitude trails to semi-tropical valleys, camping near Santa Teresa.

Day 12: Santa Teresa – Aguas Calientes 2040m

Hike to Llactapata then to Aguas Calientes, preparing for the Machu Picchu visit. Spend the night in a local hotel.

Day 13: Machu Picchu 2430m (Huayna Picchu)

Visit the iconic Machu Picchu, with an optional climb of Huayna Picchu for extraordinary views.

Day 14: Sacred Vally – Cusco 3400m(evening)

Tour the Sacred Valley including Ollantaytambo, Maras, and Moray. Return to Cusco for the night.

Day 15: Cusco-(Vincunca optional tour)

Enjoy optional activities or relax in the city, absorbing more of its enchanting atmosphere.

Day 16: Arrive Lima (early)

Day 17: Depart Lima(evening)

A transportation service will pick you up from your hotel at the established time and will transfer you to the airport.

Day 18: Arrive back in Dublin.

Payment

You have the flexibility to pay your deposit and balance using any legal method. Please note, if you choose to pay via electronic bank transfer, you are responsible for any associated transfer fees. This ensures that the company receives the full invoiced amount in the specified currency.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations 90 days or more before departure: Full deposit refund if paid in advance. After 90 days, 30% of the deposit is non-refundable.
Cancellations 60 days before departure: 50% of the deposit is non-refundable.
Cancellations 45 days before departure: Full deposit is non-refundable, plus an additional 30% of the total trip cost.
Cancellations 30 days or less before departure: 100% of the total trip cost is non-refundable.

Kilimanjaro September 2023. What a great experience with old friends and now new friends. The Pat Falvey team were fantastic, courteous, helpful and 100% professional. The ethos of the Pat Falvey team was to ensure maximum enjoyment for everyone and a determination to get everyone to the summit. This was achieved with flying colours. A special thanks to Freddy for his input in organising porters, cooks, guides and all the other support staff.

We joined Pat in summiting Mount Kilimanjaro in September 2023 and also added on the safari to our trip. This was a life changing experience due in large part to the meticulous planning, preparation, and execution by Pat and all his team members. From the outset, we were given white glove treatment and felt taken care of. Pat and team are incredibly knowledgeable and care so much about your experience that I can’t imagine what this trip would have been like without their help, guidance, and adventurous spirit. We had the best group of travelers and crew anyone could ask for — you couldn’t recreate the magic if you tried. We spent 14 days in Tanzania and not one single thing went wrong. Everything went off without a hitch and for that to happen on any trip is a miracle, let alone one of this magnitude. We were well looked after and can’t thank Pat and team enough for this incredible, unforgettable experience. Do not hesitate to book with them! It is worth it and more. Every single detail of our guided tour of Corrán Tuathail was 100% . It was much better than we could have hoped for . The guide was just like another participant in our group . But yet he covered every safety aspect thoroughly. The pace was allowed totally to suit us , as was any stops we required . It was almost as if he could sense what we needed . Go raibh míle maith agaibh.

I climbed Carrantuohill on Sunday 1st of October with Andy Lynch (Guide) and it was the most amazing experience!!! As far as mountain guides go.. this company is extremely lucky to have Andy as one, he was excellent and the peels of laughter summitting and descending rang out, I think the sheep were wondering what the hell was going on at one stage!!!! To tick this off my bucket list was brilliant and it wouldn't have happened without the care and guidance of Andy who's knowledge of the mountain was just unreal. I would highly recommend Andy to any group going up and if I was the recommend this climb to family and friends, I would say "Oh I hope ye get Andy as a your guide" Many thanks again to all involved and it is a 5 star review for Andy!!!!

Great experience. Me and my partner stayed at the Mountain Lodge for two nights. Very relaxing area and Pat really makes you feel like you have the run of the place. We would be very private people usually, but felt very comfortable throughout our stay. Great location. I climbed Carrauntoohill and my partner stayed behind to relax at the lodge. It was truly an unforgettable experience and an ideal stepping stone onto future adventures. Hike was at my pace from start to finish, but with great encouragement to push when possible. Great advice and technique tips from the guide Andy. You will go away wanting to go back again.

Carrauntoohil. Amazing friendly guide Igor, who had lots of local knowledge about the area and also taught me a great deal about trekking and scrambling techniques. Had a a great time, and very much would recommend Pat Falvey for those looking to climb Carruantoohil.
