Nova IV

Nova IV

The sleeping bag I recommend is the: Nova IV synthetics sleeping bag

I suggest a synthetic bag as this will also work in moist conditions. It is cheaper than down but heavier and holds heat if it gets wet whereas down doesn’t.

This is the bag we use and recommend for Kilimanjaro, Base Camp and other of our treks. We can also increase the warm level by inserting a liner to go down to colder conditions.

Details

Polarloft

Synthetic insulation that offers an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio and small pack size.

Helium

Helium fabrics are exceptionally light, compressible and tough. There densely woven construction ensures the highest levels of down-proofing, wind resistance and resistance to heat loss.

Nova-Optimised

Optimised

By utilising Keystone Shingle construction, offset layer construction and POLARLOFT® insulation our Nova range of bags combine our most thermally resistant construction methodology with a time-proven synthetic fill and efficient design.

Keystone shingle construction offers the greatest warmth for the minimum weight. Overlapping layers of insulation are positioned at right angles to the sleeping bag plane, running outwards from a central apex. This minimises cold spots, makes the bag warmest over the user, and creates excellent loft and resultant comfort.

Nova-Lode-Lock

Lode Lock™ Closure

Our Lode Lock™ closure system with its low profile auto-engaging magnet combines all the advantages of a magnetic fastener with those of a mechanical lock. It is featured on all Nova sleeping bags. Rendering the traditional press-stud collar closure practically obsolete, its one-handed quick release closure uses two captivated internal magnets to draw the locking mechanism together and ensure that once connected it cannot be accidentally opened. The result contributes to an insulated collar that is more efficient and easier to operate.

Nova-Fabrics

Fabrics

Helium™ 20 fabrics use tightly woven 20D nylon yarns to make a fibre-proof fabric with no coatings or treatments that might impair breathability or comfort. A beautiful optic, great handle, and weighing just 42g/m2 makes for a fantastic outer fabric. Our legendary Supersoft™ 30 lining fabric provides superb comfort, breathability and durability, despite weighing just 49g/m2.
