Fitness Assessment

Our Fitness Assessment course is suitable for those who are planning to undertake a high-altitude trek or climb as well as for those who want an exciting weekend in the Irish mountains even if you are not yet going on a trek or expedition. The course is a test of stamina, skills and overall fitness and provides an excellent opportunity to test the gear and clothing you have and how they stand up in wilderness conditions.

This course begins with a climb of Carrauntoohil, Ireland’s highest mountain, and is followed by a night climb over Purple Mountain which culminates in watching the sun rise over Killarney National Park. The course provides an insight into the typical schedule needed on high-altitude treks and climbs as well as into the mental and physical requirements needed to endure the challenge.
